Viewing your notifications

Notification badges on the iOS app

On your iPhone home screen, the total number of unseen notifications from Frame.io will appear in the top left corner of the app thumbnail.

When accessing the app, a red badge displaying the total number of unseen notifications will appear on top of the notification icon in the bottom right corner.

Notifications on the Account Switcher

On the account switcher, if there are unseen notifications from that account, it’ll have a red dot next to the logo.

Using the Notifications page

To view your Frame.io notifications, tap the bell icon in the bottom right corner of the app.

Unread notifications will be marked with a blue dot. Tapping on the notification will open it and mark it as “Read”. Alternatively, you can also swipe right on the notification to mark it as “Read” or “Unread”.

Accessing the settings

To change which actions send you a notification, you can go to the “Notifications” settings within the iOS app by tapping the gear icon in the top right corner of the Notification list.

You can also access these settings from the Workspace page by tapping on the three-dots in the top right corner and selecting “Notifications”.

Note: These settings will be applied to the your notifications across any accounts you are added to.


Email Frequency: Set the frequency of your email notifications. You can adjust it to Immediately, 15 minutes, hourly, daily or never.

Notification type

On the Notification settings, you can also toggle the notification type between Push and Email.

Push Notifications: Sends a notification to a users device.
Email Notification: Sends you a notification via email

Note: If the Push option is selected, it will require you to install the iOS app, sign in and allow push notifications in order to receive them on your device. If push notifications from the iOS app are disabled, push notifications won’t be sent to your device even if they are enabled in your Frame.io account settings.

Project notifications

The project notifications can be set from the Workspace settings and the Project settings.

While enabled, you’ll receive notifications for the comments and assets within those projects. The notification types are determined by the settings in your “Notifications Settings” page.

Adjusting notifications on a project

To disable the notifications for individual projects, you can access the project settings from the project page or workspace page.

From the Project page

Tap the three-dots in the top right corner of the project page and toggle on “Project Notifications”.

From the Workspace page

Tap the three-dots in next to the project name and toggle on “Project Notifications”.

Adjusting notifications for all projects in a Workspace

To disable notifications from all of the projects within a workspace, tap the three-dots next to the Workspace name to open the Workspace settings.

On the Workspace settings, toggle “Project Notifications” off.

Enabling push notifications

On the Notification settings, if you see this message at the bottom of the page, it means all push notifications from the Frame.io app are disabled.

To enable push notifications for the Frame.io app, you can navigate to your iOS settings and open the “Notifications” option.

From here, under “Notification Style”, select “Frame.io” and toggle “Allow Notifications” on. Any in-app notifications within Frame.io will then appear as a push notification on your iPhone or iPad.

You can also adjust the notification alert method, alert style and appearance of the push notifications.
