Adobe Illustrator / Mounted Storage Optimization

Workflow

Note: First ensure that you have a Frame.io Project mounted with Frame.io Drive.

  1. Go to File > Open and locate your mounted Project from your local drive. Select the asset you would like to work on and click Open. The same action can be done by dragging and dropping your media directly from the Finder location into Illustrator. (Note: This requires no downloading onto your desktop as it's from the mounted Project based in cloud storage.)

  2. Continue to work on cloud-based media within Illustrator.

  3. When finished with the edit, choose one of the export options from File > Export and save it in the mounted Project which will upload automatically to Frame.io. The newly exported file will upload to Frame.io to that Project location. Make sure to monitor Upload Status in Frame.io Drive app to ensure file has completed it's uploaded.

Version Stack

If the Illustrator project is being saved to the Mounted Project, each save will create a new version on Frame.io up to a max of 250 versions. Once max is reached, oldest versions will be moved to trash. Only the latest version is ever visible in Finder/File Explorer.
