Adding storage to my account

Storage can be added to your account by simply adding users through seat-scaled storage, in which the number of Members in an account decides the base storage capacity. Storage add-ons are also available on select plans with an active, paid subscription. Accounts on free trials are not eligible for storage add-ons.

Seat-Scaled Storage

Storage on every paid plan scales per user for Frame-managed Frame accounts. Every plan has a base storage that can will add an additional 2 TB for every Member that is invited to that account. For example, if you create a Pro plan and add 4 more members, your storage account will be at 10 TB with 5 total Members. So by simply adding a new Member to your account, you can increase the storage available to your Workspace. When removing a Member from your account, this will also remove 2 TB of storage along with it.

Purchase storage add-ons

In addition to seat-scaled storage, purchase storage add-ons, can also be applied a la carte to your account. To purchase a storage add-on (Account Owner permission required), navigate to the bottom of the Plan page.


Storage add-ons are available in 250GB increments.

Manage storage add-ons

To increase, decrease, or remove all storage add-ons, navigate to the bottom of the Plan page (Account Owner permissions required).

If reducing or removing storage add-ons, ensure your account is within your plan limits which can be found on the Usage page. Accounts that exceed plan limits are subject to being locked.

Q: Who is eligible for Seat-Scaled Storage?

A: Pro and Team plans that are on the latest version of Frame.io Version 4. Enterprise customers can contact their sales rep for detailed information about our Enterprise scaled storage offering.

Q: How much storage do I get?

A: Pro plans get 2TB storage with their first Member plus 2TB per additional paid Member for up to 5 paid Members. Members can be added for $15 per Member per month plus tax.

Team plans get 3TB storage with their first Member plus 2TB per additional paid Member for up to 15 paid Members. Members can be added for $25 per Member per month plus tax.

Enterprise customers can contact their sales rep for detailed information about our Enterprise scaled storage offering.

Q: How do I get additional storage?

A: Pro and Team accounts on the latest version of Frame.io V4 will automatically be switched to seat-scaled storage. If you’re on a Pro or Team plan that is not on the latest version of Frame.io, you can update to V4 to unlock storage for each additional paid Member. Enterprise customers should speak with their sales rep about scaled storage.

If you’re not sure if you’re on the latest version of Frame.io, log in to the web app and check the URL. Accounts on older versions will see app.frame.io listed in their URL, while accounts on the latest version will see next.frame.io.

If you’re not sure what plan your account is on, navigate to your billing settings to check.

Q: What Member roles are eligible for increased storage?

A: After the first Member (the Owner), only additional paid Members receive increased storage. Guests and Reviewers do not receive additional storage.

Q: What happens to my storage if I remove a paid Member?

A: When a paid Member is removed from your account, the storage associated with the paid Member is removed from pooled storage.

Q: What will happen to my existing storage add-ons?

A: No changes will be made to your current plan. You can manage your add-ons at any time from your account settings.
