Frame.io Drive's Transfers tool adds real value to your workflow. You get file and batch progress, transfer verification, and full logs. Mounted storage, as a live file system, doesn't provide that level of feedback. For large batch uploads and downloads, this remains a strong option. If there are any interruptions, the transfer will resume your upload or download with no loss of progress.
Upload
Select a project or folder location within Frame.io Drive, click the Upload button, and select the assets you wish to upload to this project or folder. Click Upload.
Drag and drop assets from your desktop into the proper location, and uploading will begin as well. If assets are dragged and dropped into the Transfers tab directly, they will upload to the last Project location opened in Frame.io Drive.
View the status of the upload by clicking on the Transfers tab. Any active upload will be found under In Progress, where it can be tracked, reordered, or canceled. For batch uploads, assets and folders can be displayed to track individual progress in the file navigator.
Once the upload is finished and successful, it will be shown under Completed. If you have desktop notifications turned on, you will be notified when the download completes or when an issue is encountered.
Upload options from the three-dot menu include:
View on Frame.io: View the uploaded file directly to Frame.io.
View on Finder: View the file from the local location on your computer.
View Log File: View the log file that develops with your upload. The location of the log file is in the same folder location as the uploaded file. Read more about log files below.
Cancel Upload: (During upload only) Cancels the current upload progress.
Remove from List: (After upload is complete) Remove the file from the upload list in your Transfers tab.
Download
Select a project or one or more folders or assets, click the Download button, and select a quality level. Your quality options will include the original file and video proxies of that file, with the highest quality matching your original file (or closest option to it) and below. The selected assets will immediately begin downloading to your device.
View the status of the download by clicking on the Transfers tab. Any active upload will be found under In Progress, where it can be tracked, reordered, or canceled. For batch downloads, assets and folders can be displayed to track individual progress in the file navigator.
Once the download is finished and successful, it will be shown under Completed. If you have desktop notifications turned on, you will be notified when the download completes or when an issue is encountered.

Log files
A log file containing each asset's status and progress within a batch will be created with every upload and download. To access the log file, right-click on any in-progress or completed transfer. If viewed while the action is in progress, the log will update in real-time with the upload/download status information. The log file will be saved in the same location as the selected file and can be adjusted via Frame.io Drive preferences.
Once completed, the log file will display if the files were uploaded, verified, unverified, failed, canceled, and if any new folders were created in the process. If a file fails, the log will give a further explanation for the reason. If a file is unverified by a checksum, the Frame.io link to the file will be listed for quick access to see if the file was delivered without any issues.
FAQ
Q: If I have Frame.io Drive already installed, do the same steps apply in the web app?
A: You can still initiate downloads to Frame.io Drive from the web app. Just follow the prompts described above.
Q: Will Frame.io Drive allow me to keep multiple downloads going over a long period of time? I don’t want to restart the process with my larger files.
A: Frame.io Drive will be stable for downloads that last over 24 hours, so there should be fewer interruptions for longer file transfers. In fact, the app can now process 2x as many simultaneous downloads to increase bandwidth saturation on high-speed networks for even faster delivery of those large batches from Frame.io.
Q: How is privacy handled within Frame.io Drive?
A: Privacy restrictions set on any asset or folder level will still apply.
Q: Is Forensic Watermarking supported?
A: Forensic Watermark downloaded files are not supported in V4 at this time.
