What is a Frame managed account?
A Frame.io account where Frame.io is the source of truth for what plan has been purchased, and what users are entitled to access the account. This account will not have any connection to the Adobe Admin Console to procure or manage Frame.io and its users.
If you log into Frame.io and manage your users only through the Frame.io web app, then you have an Frame managed account.
Note: You can use Adobe Auth to login to a Frame managed account. This does not make it an Adobe managed account.
What is an Adobe managed account?
A Frame account where the Adobe Unified Platform is the source of truth where:
All user management (adding and removing) of the account is done via the Adobe Admin Console.
The plan is purchased through the Adobe Frame.io page, not Frame.io's pricing page.
In these accounts, all entitlement management happens within the Adobe Admin Console and all Identity Management, including SSO configurations, happens via Adobe's Identity Management Service (IMS).
Some other key attributes about these accounts include:
An Adobe managed account MUST be on Frame.io V4.
All paid seat users in an Adobe managed account MUST use Adobe Identity to login and authenticate. You cannot use traditional Frame.io usernames and passwords.
An Adobe managed account is one to one with an Adobe Org / Admin Console. This means you cannot have more than one account in any Admin Console at one time.
Adobe managed account plan options
Plans available for an Adobe managed account are:
Enterprise Prime - Similar to the Enterprise plan found on the Frame.io pricing page. All Enterprise features will be available under this plan.
Enterprise Select - An Enterprise plan with limited Enterprise features at a discounted price.
Team - Similar to the Team plan found on the Frame.io pricing page.
Pro and Free plans will not be available on Adobe managed account.
